Running. One of the most primitive form of exercise, seems to have become an acquired activity these days.
Yes, it can get rather boring, and there are a ton of more efficient types of exercises that burn so much more calories in a shorter amount of time.
Then why run?
For me, it allows me to be patient with myself apart from improving my stamina. When I run short of breath, I tell myself, there’s not very far to go. At times, the only thing that’s in my mind is, “don’t stop, just put one foot in front of the other, one, two, one, two…. just repeat and we’ll get there.” Then I’ll surprise myself by completing 10km without stopping.
Apart from that, when else would you have time in your regular weekdays, to exercise while indulge yourself in the most breathtaking of sunsets?! It really is a peaceful sport and one that you need no company or classes to do.
So get yourselves a decent pair of shoes to minimize risks of injuries, and start running!
Remember to keep to the balls of your feet! And perhaps read a bit on how to start and improve your running. There’s tons of articles on Google!
