Our first full day in Bali was definitely used to it’s fullest. Why? we managed to visit about FIVE tourist attractions in one day, not including the restaurants and massage parlour! And these locations are no where near where we stayed! We stayed in Villa Beharra (look up airbnb) which is in Seminyak. It took us almost 2 hours to get to Ubud and about an hour up to Kintamani volcano. I couldn’t stand car rides at all so all the way we kept asking Wardii Goh (our driver, look him up on Facebook) “how long more?” and “are we there yet?” to the point that all of us got pretty fed up with that question but still kept asking anyway because our asses were so sore from the ride T___T
Anyway, despite the torturing distance, it was still nice to be able to see so much. Only, I’d advise everyone to just stay at one area for a couple of days to fully “feel” and experience the area. My favorite area was Ubud where the art stores and markets are, it was so pretty!

“Sou Dou” is what they call it. It’s tasty chicken in gravy served with rice and a local lemon piece beside.
This is Indomee! In Malaysia, we’ve been eating packet instant noodles called Indo mee since we were kids. And I didn’t realize that I was finally eating it fresh half way through the dish when the taste suddenly struck a taste bud and rang a bell!
Wantons here are pretty similar to those back home, only the filling is not pork.
Happy me for discovering such delicious noodles. Food here isn’t cheap though eventhough it was a no-airconditioned restaurant (very much like a kopitiam). After splitting the bill, it cost us about RM30 each!
Fresh in the day, we were all smiles because we had NO IDEA HOW LONG this car ride was going to be.
After about 2 hours heading North East, we finally got to Tegalalang Rice Terrace. We were so glad to get off our butts!!

After about another hour, we finally got to Kintamani Volcano viewing point!!
It was a little cloudy because the of the smoke from the active volcano. It was also going to rain then.
Our table happened to have the number 89! We are 1989 babies!

Can’t remember what this was but it was good.
This is vegetables. The common vegetables we have been served were Tau Gei (Beansprout) and Kang Kung.
After the meal we went back south and stopped by a coffee plantation called Dewi. The host introduced several types of plants, mainly coffee, tea and fruits that are made into drinks on the farm!
If I’m not mistaken, the above is a cocoa plant. We also got to try a young passion fruit straight out of the tree. I cringed at the sourness.
Dried Bali Coffee
Luwak Coffee Beans. This is the most expensive coffee in the world, also known as poop coffee. How it is created:Â the Luwak animal (google it) eats the coffee beans, poops it out, and we humans pick it up and process it and make it into drinkable coffee. Apparently it has a lot of health benefits, look it up. The poop is normally taken from wild luwaks’ so we didn’t see a farm of them. I got a small packet of this coffee for about RM75.

coconut coffee, lemon grass tea, ginger tea, kunyit tea, roselle tea, vanilla tea, ginseng coffee, chocolate and bali coffee.
After the lovely tea coffee session, and plucking out a ton of serai grass (Xian wanted to use it to ward off mozzies at the villa lol), we headed to Tirta Empul Temple. I absolutely loved this place! It’s such a pretty and peaceful garden!

If you start washing at one, you have to finish the row. We didn’t bring spare change so we didn’t do this.

This is Holy Water that comes out from the ground. It is surrounded by tall walls so people can’t dirty it.
Birds were flying around snatching water(?) from the pond. It was such a serene and beautiful site.
